November President's Letter
Have you noticed that many WEO sisters love wine? Our events that focus on wine are always popular and receive sweet reviews. We are drawn to it like bees to honey.
I admit that I don't drink wine. I prefer a rousing cup of coffee, and I know that some of you rave about the perfect porcelain cup of tea. What is it about these drinks that bring out the connoisseur in each of us?
Since I am not a sociologist by trade, I daresay my opinion doesn't carry much credibility. Nonetheless, I think our fondness for comforting beverages is ingrained in our culture. We drink when we socialize.
As much as I enjoy a refreshing glass of water, getting together with friends for just water doesn't carry the same impact as a glass of wine, a bottle of beer, or a cup of coffee. Whether you are an introvert or an extrovert, human beings are all fundamentally social creatures. Sharing a drink seems to loosen our barriers and strengthen our bonds.
Our speaker for November's WEO meeting is Kerry McDaniel Boenisch, a wine expert. Kerry calls herself "a word and wine mixologist." She brings a heartfelt message that is perfectly timed for you and your business as we head into the holidays.
I hope you will gather with us at WEO this month and enjoy fellowship and a glass of wine (or coffee), while we learn from a master wine educator.
